Machu Picchu - Lost and Found
The exact date of the discovery of Machu Picchu is disputed, but most likely it has been discovered in 1911 - so we celebrate the 100 year anniversary in 2011. Since it was a lost and found city, like every Geocache, we think it is time to create a Geocoin in honour of this discovery.
Machu Picchu is a Inka site, which has been built in the 15th century in Peru. It is situated on a mountain ridge above the Urubamba Valley. According to studys there lived up to 1000 inhabitants in this city.
