We’ve attached an artificial fly on top of a watertight magnetic cache container. It's big and black and ugly, and it’s ready for you to hide, complete with logs.

From head to tail it measures approx. 3.2cm (1-1/4in) and is just over 2.5cm (1in) tall.

A split pin is included to attach your fly in place, as well as instructions on how to place your fly and keep it safe.

Note: Please note in your cache description that the bug is not to be used to unscrew the lid of the container and the “finder” needs to grip the container lid itself to unscrew it to get to the log. Rough handling could cause the bug to come unattached from the container.  If your bug does become detached, we recommend replacing with a dot or two of superglue or waterproof epoxy.

I bought this as a prop for a presentation I was doing. It doesn't look very realistic, might be okay in the bush.
Personally I wouldn't use it, too likely to go missing and I don't hide micros as a matter of principle.

Good idea but it sticks out too much when you attach it to something, so wouldn't fool anyone but its a bit of fun :)

This looked fantastic, however in practice it appears not to be water tight enough to general weather. I placed this out only a month or so ago, and have already needed to replace the provided log already as it was damp. checked screwing mechanism. that appeared tight.
